I just got an AT&T Samsung Infuse today. My first Android phone. Very excited!

I asked the salesguy this very question "When will we get Gingerbread?"

Nice guy looked it up on his computer and his answer: Late November/early December.

Sorry.

Funny he gave you an answer most will tell you they have no access to that information.

lol. That sounds about correct if anything.

Well as of right now, V2 Beta 2 was released yesterday of Infused. It improves a little over version one. But they still have issues with the bootloader situation. Everything works normally, but there are rainbow effects on boot up (Will be eventually resolved) And for some reason, it just doesnt seem as snappy as Infused V1.5.3. Hes still got kinks to work out (Hence why its still in beta). But Gingerbread looks sweet.

V1.5.3 is very stable with Froyo. And its themed to look like GingerBread. So Im sticking with that now until his GingerBread release of Infused is official and out of Beta. But hes working hard on it and hes really good and doing what he does. I have total confidence that eventually it will be stable.

Pretty sure that info has not been released anyway... he probably read it off one of these forums! Hope it is soon, though!

Welcome to the Infuse club. :)

So we can't get the update if we're rooted, removed some bloatware and unroot?
If you're rooted as soon as the "official" GB comes out there will be a ROM for it to load so you shouldn't be concerned. It wasn't even a day after it was released before the Canadian GB was available for the US Infuse.

Rooted ROMs usually intentionally prevent automatic updates. Worse case you can "unroot" and go back to factory (very simple) then take the download then reroot and reinstall all your apps but why go through all that?

Ok, I rooted my Infuse and removed some of the bloatware. How do I flash back to the oem rom.
In other words where do I download it from and how to flash it back.
thanks so much for your kind responses.

If you're just rooted (but not flashed to a different rom) I'm assuming that shouldn't require anything really, right? Just have to re-root afterwards?

Can't wait to get the GB update. The rogers infuse with GB seems so fast compared to the froyo infuse.

The update will definitely unroot your phone. But you can re-root it after. And the phone won't be able to update to GB if you've deleted apps, flashed to a custom ROM, etc.

Trying this for a second time. you wont be able to get GB if you deleted apps, which Apps cant you delete?
my phone is stock not rooted.

please respond as i asked before.

If it is stock you will be fine.

IF you root and delete the 'bloatware' then you cant.

And that is why I rooted and kept all the bloatware intact. I just use Folder Organizer for my apps. I never click the Applications button on the phone. So, I don't see that crap that AT&T added. :))

Use Launcher Pro and you can hide all of that annoying bloatware. Wont see it again unless you bring it back yourself.
