Ok guys, this may of been answered before, but which is best for the nook color, cm7 or honeycomb, are the both fully working roots on the nook color, I have froyo, but would like to change.

I want to run from an sd card not internal memory, can we get them both on sd card?

Pros / cons for each????/

Thanks

you can indeed do both on an sd card. my personal preference is cm7 is the way to go. running honeycomb is cool, but since its a rom not built off of the source code (which hasnt, and might never, be released), youre missing a lot of the cool features that make honeycomb awesome (like tablet specific apps and the like). the honeycomb rom is more like a honeycomb skinned froyo IMHO (keep in mind though that i never bothered rooting my HC rom, if that matters). cm7 is just faster and more stable than the HC rom in my experience, and was a more enjoyable experience for me

being as both can run off of the sd card though, i would suggest giving both a try. they are both relatively easy to install

I just switched from honeycomb to CM7 and love it. wont go back unless a source build is ever made, but like terpitude71 stated, that will probably never ever happen.

Anyone know a simple way of getting to boot in recovery, I keep trying the hold n and power, and count to six, cant get it to work....so i cant install the apps pack..:(
I just noticed rom manager with the cm7 install, and it has an option to reboot in recovery mode..seems to work fine.

to install the apps pack, i held the "n" and power button down until the "touch the future of reading" message popped up, and then i held it for 2 more seconds, let go, and it installed the apps pack. you probably saw notes in the cm7 install thread that you could hold the buttons too long, but you can also release them too early too. it took me a couple tries to get it.

I use j4mm3r's boot menu, which can select between booting to eMMC or SD and also will boot to either in recovery mode without timing issues: [ADV] Boot menu for the Nook Color [2011-03-19] - xda-developers.

I did the HC on SD first (in March) and I loved it. I decided to try the Froyo on another SD and didn't like it at all. Then I tried the CM7 at the end of April just for kicks and have not gone back to HC yet for all the reasons listed above. I am using a class 4 SD I bought at Walmart for 19.95 for both HC and CM7 and they worked just fine for me. I could only find class 6 cards on the web.
I used this process from xda-developers for the install: [ROM][CM7] Size-agnostic SD Card image and CM7 installer for SD Cards. with updater - xda-developers it is the size agnostic version.
Good luck

best deal C10 8gb PNY microsd card is 17.99 online with costco

I was surprised a C10 8gb microsd card from costco.com. I found the card under a costco search of "secure digital" try any other logical keys words and you get anything but the sd cards.
The Costco site is unorganized. The card takes 7 to 10 days for delivery and is a online only deal. it is PNY
8GB Micro SDHC Class 10
Memory Card for Tablets
+ Mobile Devices
Item # 573962 for 17.99 shipping and handling included. Most of the time the product description from Costco are fairly accurate....now that's most of the time. keep in mind Costco will always take back their product and sometimes gives great return policies on equipment. Since the card is not a computer or TV or camera you possibly may have a non-expiration date return policy. I have yet to call to check the return policy.

because I wanted to root right away. I paid 25.00 + tax at target store for a C6 8gb lexar with USB adapter. thats with using a target.com coupon for 5 off.

if someone orders one please tell how it compares with their current card.
