I am on hold with VZ as I type this. When I asked about when GB would be available for the DX2 she said that her system does not show an ETA. She put me hold and spoke with a supervisor. When she came back she told me that GB has been rolling out in phases and that some of the new X2's being sold right now have GB. I respectfully disagreed and asked that she double check her information.
I told her that I was informed in May by a store employee that GB would be available for the DX2 before the end of June....I also mentioned that I received similar information from the VZ CSR when I ordered the phone from them. Here we are now, July 7th and the rumors from the Moto camp are not encouraging.
I am now on hold again as she is trying to verify what her supervisor told her.
And we're back; bad news, no roll out or "phasing"....no additional information and the tech I was transferred to confirmed that they all sold the DX2 with the information that the GB upgrade would happen before June was out. He spoke directly to Moto was told that there is no planned upgrade!!! WTF?

I told him I feel mislead and burned my upgrade for nothing. He agreed that I, as well as all DX2 owners have every reason to be upset. He took my number and said that he would keep digging and would contact me as soon as he gets updated info. He also mentioned that more and more DX2 owners are calling and voicing their concerns.

Well, I guess that means you don't like your phone. I love my X2 exactly as it is, along with 3 other family members. Good luck to you on your update and whatever magic you expect it to bring, though.

Im highly pissed about this to. I figured with the dual core processor this phone would be #1 on the list to receive the update to unleash its true potential. I want GB but I could care less bc as soon as the boot loader is unlocked and custom roms are released im flashing liberty rom to my X2 as soon as possible!

I thought Moto had promised us GB! however I would rather have the bugs worked out now then the in other updates later on cause right now this phone has some slight issues, plus Moto will soon be unlocking their bootloaders (crossing fingers they go through with it) we can get rid of motobloat and see what this phone is really made of...

ok so GB is already out for the Droid X but not the X2? The DX2 in my local VZW store has an update available on the screen. Next time I go in I am going to check to OS version to see if it matches my OG Droid.. I have my last upgrade ready and was going to get the DX2.. I may end up waiting for the Droid 3 now if DX2 isn't getting GB... ugh

Correct me if im wrong, but is there any Tegra device that is currently running gb? If not, perhaps they have problems with the Tegra/GB combo. And is moto really going to unlock our bootloaders (like htc is doing)? That would be amazing.

I purchased mine at Costco. The associate acted like he already had GB loaded on his own personal DX2 and told me that mine should upgrade in 1 to 2 weeks. He even went so far as to search for updates there in the store.

I really wish, but highly doubt it. Its both the carrier's job and the manufacturer's job to release an update, not just Verizon. That's HTC, this is Motorola. I bet moto doesn't have it ready yet

Yea the fact that a verizon rep tells you that he has no idea means absolutely nothing. The update could very well be coming next week, and the reps would still be oblivious.the only thing they know about the phone is what's on the spec sheet right in front of them. The word "gingerbread" means nothing to them (unless it's on the sheet/memo in front of them. And I guarantee you that this phone will get gingerbread, that is near definite. When is the question, but I guess that's why patience is a virtue. Yes, gb is better than froyo, but barring the few bugs and glitches, so long as my phone is useable, I'm fine for now.
