As some of you may have noticed, the Mac OS X and Windows versions of Gingersnap Root Utility is now under the Team Androphiles brand. We are working hard to bring the Linux version of Gingersnap up to par with the Mac version, as well as adding appropriate Team Androphiles branding.[/INFO]

Pre-use Requirements: 1) You need the .NET 4 Framework. Not the Client Profile, the full .NET 4 Framework. 2) For some reason you need the Visual C++ 2008 redistributable installed. Don't ask me why. 3) You need proper drivers for your device. Your video card doesn't work without drivers and neither will your phone. 4) Your device needs to have USB debugging enabled. 5) Gingersnap should be used ONLY on a fresh reboot of your device. If you don't know what this means, reboot your phone before using this utility! turn on usb debugging thats what i did i use this program to root my phone i often switch between zvh and zvd which is froyo and gingerbread so just turn on us debugging

so can you possibly give me a step by step instruction on how to do this. i downloaded everything and i am not even sure if the gingersnap can see my device but i clicked root and its been stuck on "extracting exploit" for about an hour and a half.

I'm having virus detection issues on the ginger root file... when I download the zip file, my anti virus deletes it immediately. Should I be worried about disabling it to allow the file? Nevermind, my newest problem is the vague instructions here. I've turned on USB debugging and downloaded all that's required and rebooted my phone. I opened up gingersnap and clicked root and it says it's successful and that my device is rebooting but nothing happens. And my device is not rooted still.

Root access is done through an exploit. Its basically similar to injecting a virus into your phone. This method finds vunerabilty then injects the files needed to gain root. So yes your antivirus will see it as a threat but its perfectly safe.

I can't understand how to root my phone with gingersnap, I download those 3 zip files and extracting file but I found only superuser apk, there can not found any gingersnap apk file, please help me
