Glass cracked while watching a video
Samsung Galaxy Edge,I bought this phone few days ago. From At&T by phone I ordered this phone.I was asked to put it on insurance , I politely refused. The guy also told me to to put protective cover over the glass. Once it arrived, I decided to put the cover that weekend. But on friday night I was watching a TED video with my ear phones on. Suddenly I heard a bubble explosion sound and static tick tick sound in my ear. I thought for a moment that speakers gone bad. Then I see the screen glass is completely cracked. Then I realized that the static sound was nothing but slow cracking of the glass.
When i asked AT&T, they said that they cannot help because I did not purchase the insurance. They told me to call Samsung. I called Samsung and they wanted the phone back for evaluation. I decided to ship the phone after I return from my one week trip to Denver. Other than cracked glass the phone was great. It did great navigation help as well as I can watch videos since cracked glass was not that visible.
Now I sent it for repair and the customer support is saying that the lcd is gone bad along with the glass and they want me to pay $237.01 for replacing it.
The sick repairman is not aware that I know very well that TSV and lcd is all good. I will be talking the repairman on monday to see if he understands what I am saying.
How many companies are involved in this scam? AT&T , insurace companies and Samsung? Why the glass cracked within 7 days of purchase?
I bought the phone from AT&T for 934 odd dollars and this happens. Honestly, this is some kind of scam AT&T knows. And I do not want to pay for it.
I also want to discontinue my AT&T service. I don't know where else they will cause trouble. At at&t store the guy started asking 'Do you have home protection?' I was like this company is having all crooks working for it. And it looks like they know how to extract money from innocent souls.
