Global phones?

Besides the Droid Incredible 2 and the Droid 3/Pro, what other Android global phones are there on Verizon. I think I only saw those two on their site, but maybe I skipped one? Kind of wishful thinking, but I thought I read the Droid Charge or one of the LTE phones had gsm support, or did I read that wrong? Didn't some of the leaks for the HTC Rezound show that it is a global device? Did that ever pan out to be true? Thanks.

Besides the three devices you mentioned, there is also the Motorola Droid 2 Global, which may no longer be available.

In addition, the following non-Android devices are global-ready:
*iPhone 4S (iOS)
*HTC Trophy (Windows Phone OS)
*Blackberry Bold 9930 (Blackberry OS)
*Blackberry Torch 9850 (Blackberry OS)

BTW, you can check which devices have certain features on Verizon Wireless' website. Hover over the "Shop" tab and select "Smartphones", and then under the "Features" tab, select "Global Ready".

I have the Droid 2, so the D2G is just a lateral move. Kind of feel the same way about the D3, but that has a faster processor, and a better keyboard so kind of mixed there.

The Droid 4, which hopefully is to be coming this month, should be the first LTE phone on Verizon to be global capable. Rumored specs have said for it to have a GSM radio.

From what I've read, the battery in the Droid 4 will be non-removable.

I would guess battery life for the Droid 4 would be poorer than the Droid 3 just because it is 4G.

This list seems comprehensive to me but I will also point out that if you are only an occasional global traveler, Verizon has a free service called Global Rental where they can temporarily switch you to a GSM phone while you are abroad and then back to your old phone when you get home.

Yep just all customer servie and they can give you details (rates depending on where you are going and what kind of phone you will need) and hook you up if you desire.

Dna and ip5. Fully functional out of the box with voice text and data

I have six more months until my two years are up, and will keep my fingers crossed that, by then, something else is added that would have a memory card slot and a removable battery. Why is there no perfection in the world?
