Global setting in Cellular Preference

When I first got my phone it was automatically set to Global. I left it there over choosing LTE, 3G, or 2G. Since the 5.1 update I now only have 3 options of LTE, 3G, and 2G, as well as Advance LTE for calling and other communication. I have 2 questions.
1. Is there any way to get the Global selection back?
2. When I go in to select LTE preferred it will let me select it, but when I go back in to the selection area again, nothing is checked. When I'm not on wifi it always shows I'm on LTE, but why is nothing selected?

Not sure why you lost your global setting. I still have mine. What carrier are you on?

Radgatt..saw that you updated to 5.1, how's the battery doing?

I can't definitively say for certain just yet. So far I would say that I haven't noticed any differences but I need more time to know for sure.

I'll agree with that. Haven't noticed it being any better or worse.
