Global setting

Does anyone know if the network setting could effect my WiFi connecting? My phone wouldn't connect to my WiFi, I had to switch the setting on my router from WAP to WEPt. This it's way less secure. I noticed that my phone was on global in the network settings. Could that have effected my ability to connect to WiFi at all?

No. The "global" setting has to do with mobile carrier networks, not with wi-fi networks.

Also, I'm not aware of WAP. Did you mean WPA? If so, which specific WPA setting were you using on your router? I'm using WPA/WPA2 Personal with TKIP/AES encryption, and it works just fine.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I meant WPA. sorry. I was pretty sure the global setting wasn't affecting it, but I thought it was worth asking. It just wasn't connecting on WPA. I guess I'll just have to get a new router. It connected to everything in the Verizon store, so it's gotta be my router.
