Global unlocked G4 (LG-H815) users....

Hi,

I would like to buy one of the unlocked international versions. Would your be kind enough to let me know if the FM RDS Chip is activated? If you can run NextRadio or FM Radio app please?

Sincerely,
Arvind

If I buy an LG-H815 from eBay, wouldn't I still qualify for LG's promotion for the extra battery, battery cradle, and free micro SD card?

No it would not qualify.

No it would not qualify.

Why not? Is it because I have to prove I bought it from an authorized Tmobile retailer? What if I have the eBay invoice/receipt ? Isn't that good enough?

It has to be bought from the carrier or their authorized resellers

What does it say in the status bar when you're getting LTE, mine has a little 4G symbol. I think I'm getting LTE

Yup, the international phones show 4G, not LTE.
Actually here in the US, we, as customers, are getting ripped off for LTE.
None of the carriers in the US have "real" LTE data rates, if you look at the LTE specs.

Hi, I have H815 in NYC with t-mobile as well and even though I got "4G" on top like you have, my speeds are much closer to your first screenshot rather than the second one you have. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.

I bought the H815 from Tropical_Mobile on eBay. There is indeed a functional FM chip. The H815 includes an FM radio app, so I didn't try NextRadio. The included FM app is not bad at all. RDS is functional as well.

It only took 30 hours for mr to receive my phone from Singapore to Harrisburg PA.

I activated the H815 on AT&T and have had reception on bands 2 and 17. I looked on AT&T's web site and they do not list bands 29 and 30 on their own LG G4 either. So buying from Tropical_Mobile caused me to lose absolutely nothing.

The only issue I have is that my brown leather back has a noticeable blemish. The owner of Tropical_Mobile called me from Singapore after I sent an email about the blemish. He was willing to swap the phone out, but I didn't want to go through all the hassle.

So, I got pretty luck and LG sent me the G4 free to 'Beta Test'. I did all the photos they asked, and boy, what an incredible camera this thing has.

I decided to give it a shot and purchased a 99 cent card from TMobile, and added the 30 dollar unlmited data/texting and100 minutes talk (Can anyone say PERFECT PLAN?!).

The device works Awesome, and I'm in NH the land of no coverage.... Only issue? No Band 12, so no 700 mhz. :( Sadly they have rolled THAT out to nh, and coverage looks great with it.

So I'm not complaining, I will probably end up selling it on Ebay, and getting a Tmobile G4 or something. I also have the Sprint G3, which WAS great till I got the G4, excluding Sprints horrible coverage in NH.

Does anyone know of some secret way to unlock Band 12? That would make this phone the best, period. :)

Thanks

Steve

Wow, you are my twin, lol! I have a G3 with Sprint and have unlocked G4 from LG for testing and I'm loving the $30 Walmart plan for T-Mobile (except for the 100 min. minimum....that sucks!) I also have horrible service from Sprint and great service with T-Mobile here in NYC. There have been some complaints on the forum especially from T-Mobile and Verizon users so hold on to your H815 for now till things get cleared up! I'm not sure if Band 12 would be accessible or somehow able to activate it on our devices. Some else who knows more would be able to better help you there. Just enjoy your H815 for now like I am! :)

Haha, well, you'd be surprised how fast the 815 is here in NH on Tmobile, it is like lightning! Guess I've been destroyed by promises of Spark... When I was out in Spokane, WA, my G3 LTE speeds were spectacular. Made me really disappointed in Sprint for NH....

Once I setup the TMobile APN correctly it worked great!

Sadly I have 5 phones on Sprint, at various degress of contracts. I do think I may start phasing them over to Tmobile though.

I don't have 5 lines like you but I've been with Sprint for 14 years. I guess I've had my head in the sand you can say, lol. The speeds I've been getting on TMO just simply wipe the floor with Sprint. I just can't move forward anymore with Sprint especially with what they are providing and charging me right now. Also, Sprints calls have been going straight to voicemail the past 3 months now from time to time. They need help with their network right away or else they won't be around for much longer.

I live in NYC and frequently put my phone in airplane mode when im in the subway. My LG G2 takes about 2 mins to connect to my at&t network which is frustrating when my iphone 6 only takes a few secs. I was wondering how long it takes for the H815 to connect to either tmobile or at&t when airplane mode is switched off? Thank you in advance

I'm in NYC and have the H815 but I just turn data off, not put it in airplane mode. Takes a few seconds to connect data whem I switch it on. I'm on a T-Mobile sim.

So I wanna buy the H815 version from Amazon, but I wanted to know if it works on Verizon's antennas? (specifically Page Plus Cellular)

Have LTE issues been solved? I saw this on XDA (credit to user Rick_Deckard
Hi folks
I just got my LG G4 H815 a couple days ago... The H815 is the international model... So, I was thinking if my LG G4 would get LTE here in Los Angeles, California...
But how? Simple just go to mobile network and change from GSM/WCDMA AUTO to GSM/WCDMA/LTE AUTO! And that's it!
It would work with no problem at any US Carriers! I am using AT&T and I am getting LTE.
If you see 4G, it's ok!!! Go to Setting --> About phone --> Network! You will see LTE at Mobile Network Type

It'll only work with ATT and TMO networks. Many here have confirmed no go on Verizon.
