Gmail and Play store stopped working

After the latest MM update, my Gmail stopped working. They both try to open, but it never opens.

Soft reset or factory reset would be the only thing I can think of to do.

Same happens to me, but only with the play store. What I do is close the app and restart the phone and it works. But every time I want to use I have to do the same... Google maps used to have the same problem but it stopped I don't know how......

What will be a good app to do a backup and reset? When I changed to the G4 I used back up your mobile. But I didn't like it, it mixed up the picture dates and had a hard time with the contacts.
