I don't have any problem with my Gmail app. Where is this app you've mentioned ?. I checked the list of updated and installed apps in Google Play Store. It wasn't there . I typed it into the search bar, it showed up with no option for uninstalling it. I'm just curious.

I've shown screen shots 2 ways to find it , which phone do you have ?

The WebView was push updated again yesterday and things seems fine.

Anyhow I found a way to switch WebView implementation version so that could potentially help in the future. I don't know the shortcut but you can crate the Shortcut Maker app

I think you have to reinstall Android 11 if you are on the developer preview to opt out of the beta and revert.

Aouch I was hoping to avoid this...it has now been two days since I asked to be out of beta for webview...I guess I ll downgrade to 11

Anyone else having an issue with Gmail app crashing? I open it up and it immediately force closes. Same with Google Search app. I have not recently installed anything...

I have tried clearing cache and data.

Bug with google WebView....update and will fix the bug.

Mustang, do you know if webview is fixed where I can update it now? I haven't let it update since uninstalling the last update. Don't even know if this app is important or not.

Yeah it was available next day so all good now , and yes it's important app unfortunately.

Just front spoiler, louvers on back window and rear windows. Few chrome upgrades in interior. Was going to install shaker hood, but retired and money is not what it used to be. But enjoy driving it. My first car was a 66 Mustang, so when the kids left the house, and I turned 52 I decided to get the 2006.

Sorry, I didn't check that link was spammy. Downloaded an image hosting app but it turned to be garbage. Instead I am attaching screenshot of the window showing switching WebView.

What andriod version you on? That looks like proper selection.

I found the link and created the shortcut using the shortcut app but now I can't find it again. It's deep in android settings. But I am sure somebody at XDA would know what page it is in settings.

Yeah some of those guys there know their stuff, you couldn't find Andriod webview in apps list or system apps ?

I did find it because I was going to look what system components have changed recently through updates.

But the WebView in apps can only uninstall updates in settings. I can't disable it.

The menu seems to me like switch to turn it off.

I don't think to turn it off more for selection , try activity launcher in play store and search Android system webview then tap on dev then 3 dots upper right corner, but if you option to Uninstall the update that should work but since the issue with webview there has been a update to address it .

You are right, yes, it was Activity Launcher. I have that too and forgot that's what I used. It looks similar to the Shortcuts app. That's it.
