gmail attachments?

can you not download attachments? i emailed myself a ringtone and wallpaper was able to download the wallpaper but ringtones only have the option to preview

Have you looked at it through a file management program like astro?

You can also log into your gmail from the browser and download it that way.

can you look at your gmail inbox through astro?? yeah im not gunna go mobile browser to do it unless its something sent by someone else now that i know its not able to do that ill just transfer them another way.

No, but previewing something should put it on your SD card, I know it does for me.

Ahh glad I'm not the only one frustrated with this. I can't believe Google hasn't made the Gmail on the phone capable of downloading an attachment from an e-mail. I shouldn't have to login to Gmail on the Web to do this. It's stupid to only be able to preview an .mp3 or other document.

I tryed with astro installed and it auto saves attachment makes it nice just hit preview pops up to save

Are you still able to have the Gmail attachments auto save with Astro? I'm not having such luck...

yes, well i upgraded to froyo so now the attachment handling by gmail is a little better but astro still works for me

with froyo, you can download attachments

This is exactly the thread I was looking for...but now, I cannot find froyo anywhere in the market...(JUST got my X today - so, maybe I'm just too green lol)

For the X... I'm not sure. Wasn't it pushed OTA? Anyone?

If not, I think there was a link that they threw up on the main page to d/l the package and push it manually.
