Gmail, creating or updating?

Anyone else find themselves creating a Gmail account just so when they get their Evo they have all their contacts downloaded to it without a problem? Or... Already had one but did not use it often but updated all their contacts for the same reason?

Gmail happens to be the best personal e-mail/contacts option for the Pre, which I currently own, so I've been using gmail as my main personal email account for about a year now. I also use google voice and calendar quite a bit because of the Pre. How convenient!

I've used Gmail for about six years and after a year of the Pre, my contacts should be up there, though I've noticed disparities. To be safe, I put on the patch to export all the contacts as a vCard attachment to email, so I'm expecting to be able to fire up the EVO, add my Gmail accounts and Facebook and be right back where I was before.
