Gmail does not automatically sync

Anyone else have this weird issue?

I have only had a V20 since the end of February, and my Gmail won't automatically update. I have to open the app and refresh for it to update.

I checked the settings and cleared the cache, but still acts the same

Been a random ongoing problem with Google for months.

I use Aqua Mail app for gmail, and it syncs instantly. Its also a MUCH better email app than the gmail app. Too many things to list of how much better it is.

I've had the same problem for quite some time.

It is weird because it works sporadically.

And I just got this phone on Feb 23rd, I don't recall that issue on my Moto Z

Same here for last few months. Might not get emails until late at night or next day sometimes.
