gmail doesn't seem to suggest emails to me any more?

you know, when i type the first letter of an email address, i will get a list of possible email addresses. but now i have to type everything.

I think he means the list of contacts that pops up when you start typing in a recipient. Maybe there is a setting in the gmail app? Not sure.

okay, here's what you need to do... swipe up on home, you should be in Google search, close the keyboard. click on the three dots on the bottom right side, go into Settings, go into Accounts and privacy, scroll down a little to Contact recognition and check the box. now when you start to type your email contact choices show.

your method didn't work. i thought that it was something wrong with the tablet itself.

the solution is settings, accounts, google, then click on those sync choices.
