Gmail EVO Sync

When I sync my EVO contacts to Outlook using HTC Sync 3.0 I can specifiy that when there is a conflict the mobile device data is used.

But when I sync to gmail which data is used when there is a conflict?

I believe it puts two contacts in the persons application.
