Gmail issues

Last time this happened to me all I had to do was clear data/cache for the gmail app, uninstall it. Reboot. Reinstall gmail, then go to the account settings and turn off then on the mail sync. That's all it took for me.

I tried this, and it seems, at first glance, to have worked. I'm going to send a bunch of test emails over the course of today... will report back.

Mine has magically started working again. I tested it to make sure, as well. Confirmed. I guess Google straightened it out.

It has worked inconsistently for me throughout the morning, I just sent a test email from a desktop and nothing on the Dx.

I've been having this issue since yesterday. I've cleared gmail data and cache, rebooted, everything. It's inconsistent. Sometimes I get my email, and sometimes I don't.

Glad I am not the only one having this problem. Just tested it again, and nothing is working. Rebooted a few times, cleared cash and did a battery pull. NOTHING! Hope they get this glitch worked out soon.

yeah I just did this, and it was a big waste of time, b/c it's still not working!

Ok, I got what the stock email you were talking about, lol.

I like it, too. But it doesn't combine the similar messages like gmail and gmail app does, so your inbox is full of redundant messages. Do you know how to take care of that? Thanks.

yeah thats one of the things that i actually got used to using gmail, the threaded emails. the motorola email app works more like outlook in that respect, it shows each as indiviual emails. i havent found a way to fix that.

on a side note, the issue i think the op (at least me) are talking about is not related to the latest gmail outage. i've been having this problem for at least 3 weeks or so since i switched over to the droid x. nothing has worked, factory resets, new phones, sync is on, everything. i used a droid 2 that i was testing before signing up with verizon and it worked flawlessly. i'm stumped and can only hope that an update will come out that will fix this issue.

Hey guys - Just thought I'll give a quick update. Everything is working as it should be now. I didn't made any changes to the settings or anything, but noticed that it's sorted since evening.

I hope no one is facing the sync issue now.

I haven't had gmail pushed to my phone since 2.2 update... I hope they release 2.2.1. with a fix for this because refreshing my inbox is super annoying.

I would try wiping with these instructions...
I was running stock 2.2 for a while and had no issues with gmail but i did this right after the OTA push

well, i dont know if google fixed something that was broken or what, but my gmail app is now working where it wasnt before. i'm still testing the waters and using both the motorola email app and the gmail app, but so far so good (crossing fingers)
