Gmail notifications

It shouldn't have to be this hard. On my S21, S22 and S23 Ultra I can get Gmail and other app notifications to my home screen. On my S25 Ultra, new emails go to the app, but not the home screen. I have notifications allowed for Gmail. I do not use AOD or a lock screen. I merely want notifications to go to the top bar of the home screen where I can pull them down. What setting am I missing? I've spent all afternoon trying to figure this out.

I'm not sure I fully understand. Are you saying the Gmail app will show your new emails when you open it but the notifications for the Gmail aren't showing in your status bar?

I had to go into Gmail account settings through the app inbox and set for notifications. If you used Smart Switch to transfer data to the S25 you will likely have glitches like this.


My amazon app also wasn't firing notifications to my status bar, yet the notifications were on in the android app settings (settings>apps>amazon>notifications) and through my amazon profile. I uninstalled then reinstalled the app and back to normal.

I was having the same issue. I cleared the app data for Gmail, then opened gmail and notifications started working as expected.

There are many settings to go over but check this in Gmail app when u long press>notifications tap>make sure it's highlighted all 3 in my screenshot circled red

Thanks to all who replied. I always set up new phones from scratch. It's working now. I cleared data and reset the notifications. Still, it should have been easier.
