Hey guys,
So I tried setting up my gmail account with the default htc email app from the instructions here:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g/63069-easy-method-setup-htc-mail-client-gmail-push.html
I wanted my email through that app because of the zoom capabilities and better gui.
the instructions are:
"In the HTC Mail app select Menu then New Account
Select Exchange ActiveSync and use the settings below:
Gmail Exchange ActiveSync server address: m.google.com
Gmail Exchange ActiveSync domain: google
Gmail Exchange ActiveSync user name: Your full Gmail address (ex. your name@gmail.com)
Gmail Exchange ActiveSync password: Your Gmail password
Gmail Exchange ActiveSync TLS/SSL required: yes"
This worked for me, and I didn't even get the "bugs" that person posted.
I just want to make sure this is true "Push"
As far as I can see, I've turned off the Auto Sync for every program except for "Exchange"
and the only time the Sync Icon has showed is when I am receiving emails.
I've only been checking for about 30 minutes but is there any other way I can check that this isn't just pulling every second and draining my battery?
