Gmail swiping alert

If I swipe away a gmail notification from the lockscreen, it vibrates and makes the ringtone for gmail like I received a new email. Does not happen every time.

Weird behaviour with "N" installed: My phone too when I tap on any
notification it vibrate quickly & although I've Notifications on don't
get alerts As before, when new AC-Replies are posted..Any clue.?
