Gmail Sync alert ?

Every time I open gmail this notification pops up ;
There was a problem syncing your folder please try again.
This message only shows for a brief moment then gmail functions as normal. Anyone know what might be causing this?

Try going to Settings>Apps, select Gmail, then Storage, then Clear Cache/Clear Data. Now open the Gmail app again and give it a few seconds to re-sync. Does the error message keep appearing?
