Today I stopped receiving emails from my gmail account. Internet still works and I am getting a signal and I was on wifi. Nothing. Now when I scroll down the email list it says that there is no connection. Anyone have any advice to help me out?

Was this a temporary thing - ie: just Gmail downtime? Gmail outages do happen once in a blue moon.

Go to Settings / Applications / All / Gmail and try clearing your cache and your data. This worked for me.

If that doesn't work, a simple reboot should definitely do the trick. Usually, I've ran into this Gmail issue when the phone has been on for 150+ consecutive hours.

This happened to my wife last week. She left the east coast for San Diego and could not get on all week. Even after she returned it would not connect. About 2 days after she got back it just started working. Seemed like her issue had something to do with the location change.

That doesn't help the Droid's image for being a reliable "work" phone. :( Has she traveled and experienced this problem again since?

This reminds me of battery pulls. Noooooooooo! I wont relive those dark days. I hope the refresh works.

I tried everything posted and took it into Verizon and they did everything as well. They tell me it is probably a gmail problem. Any ideas from here? Is it possible to delete the gmail app and then reinstall it?

Got it fixed. The trick is to clear the data in the Gmail Storage app first and then clear the data in the Gmail app. That fixed it almost immediately.
