Hey.

My GMail App was recently updated to 6.5-1.123769152 and since then, Everytime I tap a message in the Notification tray to open it, I get an Android system error (attached).

Anyone else?

This does not occur on my Nexus 5 nor an older Moto phone, just my G5. GMail opens regularly and functions just fine and no other notifications stop the system. Just GMail...

Have you tried the usual 'tricks'? Clearing the app's cache, and if that doesn't help, then trying to clear data (this would force you to re-configure and re-download any messages you might have saved, though). You could also try uninstalling/re-installing, but again, that forces you to reconfigure and re-download data.

Yes, thanks for your help. It had nothing to do with GMail or the G5.

I had to work with Google on this one, but, turns out it was another app that had updated that was causing the problem. And apparently I wasn't alone.

Clearing the data, uninstalling the other app and re-inputting my credentials fixed the problem. The other company did an update and I reinstalled the app and all is fine.

I had seen chatter about this happening before with ES File Explorer, and they said this was similar.

Nice work Google!

Out of interest, how did you manage to get Google involved? Whenever i've had an issue, it is pretty much impossible to get anything from Google directly. You end up relying on the community.

Glad you got it working! If we may ask, which other app caused the issue? It could help other users that come across the same problem :)
