Going for a Note 9 yes/no

I'm upgrading even though I love the Note 8. The main reason is because it should have low band support for T-Mobile. If I didn't need it I might hold out for the 10.

That will make a difference. I'm using the unlocked version, but may go with the Tmobile version if Band 71 is on the Note 9.

But.. It looks like the screen is going to be another tenth or so bigger so I imagine battery life will be pretty similar and I still think that the power draw from the SD845 is higher than the 835. Even with 4000 mah battery I bet you MIGHT get another hour of SOT at most.

Generally newer chips are more efficient, and the extra tenth of screen amounts to almost nothing. However, an extra hour of SOT sounds great to me.

I'm not sure. I bought my current factory unlocked Note 8 paid in full up front. I love the factory unlocked version and enjoying it. I will likely wait at least awhile on the next Note. I always like to wait and see the official release video anyways to see the hard core realistic specs. Samsung has been doing a stellar job with those reveal/release/announcements. Very fun to watch.

Had a serious expense a month ago with our dog so likely waiting awhile before diving in to more tech.

I have both note 8 and key2, prefer the K2 for emails etc but the camera on note 8 is far better then the K2! I've just come back from a small holiday ( vacation) and really noticed the difference with the cameras.
Only issue was it took the usb port over 24 hours to dry out on the Samsung when I took photos and it got wet!!!!

Nah, I went for the iPhone X. I was trying to hold out with my S9+ but I sold it and went back to Apple. Too many friends, family and colleagues on iPhones and we are way deep in the Apple ecosystem. I’d love to have an iPhone and Android but I don’t know how I could switch back and forth without going crazy

Although we know nothing about the Note 9 just yet other than some leaks and speculation, I'm curious to see how many of you are already on board for the Note 9. I am very intrigued.

I used a BlackBerry KEYone for the better part of last year that I enjoyed very much. I then switched over to a Pixel 2XL, and it's the camera that has kept me on this device. It's nice knowing that I can whip out my Pixel in almost any lighting condition and get a good photo.

I briefly tried the Note 8, but the fingerprint sensor location bothered me, as well as Samsung's duplicate applications and software experience. Furthermore, the low light photos produced with my Note 8 were far inferior to those produced on my Pixel. I switched back to the Pixel ever since.

I am intrigued by the Note 9 because I have always enjoyed the S-Pen, firstly. Although I don't regularly use it, it's handy when you do in fact need it, such as jotting a quick note down on your lock screen. The cameras should be on par if not better than the Pixel lineup this year (some argue the S9's hardware is better than the Pixel 2 with its software); we won't know the answer to that statement until Google unveils the 3rd generation Pixel devices. I feel like I'll be able to get over the Samsung software experience, and I'm willing to give it a more honest shot this time around and actually try some of Samsung's solutions.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the upcoming Note 9, what device/devices you will be migrating from, and why, above all others, you prefer Samsung devices. Thank you!

Re: Are You Buying the Note 9?

I'm in mostly because of Jump On Demand!, so pretty much why not haha. But weary that this seems to be an even bigger device and not entirely sure I want a battery-powered S-Pen, but we'll see.

Re: Are You Buying the Note 9?

Got a trade in offer from Samsung. May consider it if they give me $450 for my Note 8.

Usually my note8 battery works well for me but hey I'll take an extra hour also.

Sweet!
