Going from a 6.4'' to a 6.1'' S10??

I am starting to think that 6.1 is the new sweet-spot for phone size. Right now I have the S10+ (ceramic) P30 pro, P30 and Pixel 3. Having used the Pixel for a week or so I used the 10+ again yesterday and it felt huge.

It is something I flip-flop on, managing the larger size both in terms of use and carrying burden to enjoy the larger screen. The thing is 6.1 is still a pretty big screen and I had and returned the regular S10 and it felt a great size.

The standard P30 is the 'If Only' phone of the year so far for me, had Huawei not crippled it so much it would be my choice and I am actually again thinking of getting the standard S10 again. The 10+ is almost certainly going on fleabay this weekend and maybe the P30 pro too.

But the Pixel 3XL and it's 4GB of RAM is a joke. So last year. LOL

Since Sunday I've had the S10e, S10 and now the S10+. I'd said that I was done with big phones but I was wrong. Who doesn't want a 4100mAh battery? Lol

That's why I always bought the Active series. My S7 Active 4,000MAh and I gave it to my grandson and it's going strong.
I passed on the S8 Active because I moved and AT&T doesn't work here.

I got spoiled with my Note 9 and s10+ want 5100mah now lol

I'm just a greedy sob. For me the sweet spot would probably be an s10e funnily enough. But my greed wants always bigger. Lol just like portion sizes of food.

When you get into the bigger phones it isn't the height but the width that makes the phone feel bigger to me.
I have the S10 and comparing it to the S10+ the main thing I notice is the width which makes it harder to pocket.
I was excited about the Note 10 but at 6.7" I'll pass.
Looks like the Pixel 4 XL may possibly be my next phone but I will wait a few months before I buy it. The Pixel 3 XL was on Swappa for about $600.00 New 3 months after it's release.
I might actually wait to see who makes the first phone without a notch or punch hole for the front camera and has an under/in-screen front camera.

I just did it. Had a 10+ then switched to OP 7 pro and hated it. Switched to a regular 10 and I love it. It is the perfect size. Battery life is still pretty good, but you can't abuse it like you can the plus.

I've gotten used to bigger phones. Now 6.4 is normal to me and anything smaller feels like a small device. For me bigger is now better and I can't go down in size any longer.

That's what I thought, then I had the 7 pro and that thing just sucks for me. I considered going back to a 10+ but thought I'd give the 10 a try. It's a Goldilocks phone for me. (not too big, not too small, just the right amount of size)

So I have run the full gamut of the S10 line up. I started with the regular S10 and got jealous of the battery life on the plus and I purchased that one and sold my S10. While the battery life of that phone is great, I really wanted a smaller phone. Right now I have the S10e. Battery life is not bad for this phone and it is extremely pocketable. However being left handed I can't stand the placement of the dinner print scanner. So I'm going back to the S10. That phone is the best option for size, battery life and features.

Had the S8+, then the S9+...then went to the Note 9. They all seemed too big. Loved the screen size, but they were just too big to comfortably hold and pocket easily. Switched to the S10 and love it. The screen is plenty big. The only thing is the battery just barely makes it through a normal day of use, but it makes it.

Love the way the S10 feels in my hand. I got the Leather case when I ordered it because they gave me the $50 accessories credit. That case is amazing. So light and simple. I don't drop phones, so no industrial case needed. Just need to keep it from sliding around when propped up.

I don't think you can go wrong either way. I just got tired of the mega phone size and extra weight. I would love a bigger battery though, but who wouldn't...

You sound like me. Had every big phone out there. The OP7 pro just made me realize how unnecessary it is and how uncomfortable it is. A 6.1 inch screen is big enough and the battery is fine. Not mind blowing, but still pretty darn good.

If you’re used to a big phone going to a smaller one like the S10 might be initially odd, but you’ll get used to it. For me a phone like the S10 is pretty much the perfect size. The battery life isn’t quite as good as the S10+ and it’s not as small as the S10e, but it fits in your pocket nicely and still has a great display that isn’t too small and a decent battery life.

Prices change. April was right after release. Here it is August (late), the Note 10 is out, the price on Amazon for S10+ is not much different than S10 (depending on color, storage).

The weight not the size was a deciding factor in comfort coming from S9+ and Note 9. Near ounce less.

S10 size is perfect except for the battery. I'd probably be reaching for my charger by the end of the day on an S10...especially in remote locations with poor signal. That's never an issue on my S10+.

Another vote for 6.1" being a perfect size to get in a pocket and not have limited motion *smile*. Both the iPhone XR and the Samsung S10 have 6.1" screens, the iPhone XR is just a little bit wider and heavier. But I can put either phone in my pocket and not notice it when I move around. I do like the S10 better at this point, and have no problem with the battery. Goes for a full day with lots left. I charge my phone at night, but could very likely get 2 days on the S10. Of course, I don't stream videos or play real-time games on it. Some pre-loaded podcasts and games like sudoku and solitaire.

The bottom line for me is that the S10+ is just too big. I looked at phone sizes and batteries carefully when I got the S10. The screen size on the S10 is great for me, love the phone.
