I've been having some serious issues with my phone, and I don't know if its the rom or not, but i'd like to test it out by flashing to the stock OS. However, i have gone from custom rom to custom rom since i first got the phone, i have no idea how to do this. Obviously my phone is rooted, so idk if i can just go on and do a sprint update from the sprint site? I've heard you can brick your phone this way, so i'm really scared to do anything bad, but i don't know what else to do.

Help!

If you want to return back to factory, unrooted state, then you will need to download the 2.1 RUU and run it. It will return the phone to stock 2.1 and you'll have to root it again in the future. The RUU is in the post here: xda-developers - View Single Post - [GUIDE] How to Root Sprint 2.1 Release for CDMA Hero

It's Windows only and requires that you have the appropriate drivers installed. Open the program and follow the prompts when the phone is connected.

If you want to flash a ROM that is stock, then try this: http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc...-32-651-2-odex-a2sd-updated-11-23-2010-a.html

You will keep root access but will have a stock 2.1 with mods.

Okay, well that was my question. If I d/l and run the 2.1 RUU i won't brick my phone, right? Since its rooted right now?

Nope, you won't brick your phone. It just won't be rooted anymore, my suggestion is to flash the NFX Stock rom. It's exactly like a stock 2.1 rom but it's rooted. That way you don't need to worry about re-rooting your phone.

BOOO!! I thought I recognized your signature!! Haven't seen you since i left htc-hero.com boards (it was tooooo dead). :)
