Going from one Galaxy to another

Stupid question from the tech ***** here...I used to have an in-house IT person, but unfortunately, he and the position are long gone.

So, stupid question -- do I have to download/install all my apps again on the new phone? Like Uber, banking, venmo, paypal, etc.? Thanks in advance!

That depends on you. You can use SmartSwitch to pull all (most of) the data from your old phone. Just follow the steps during set up of your new device

Usually if you have Google back up and Samsung cloud they transfer over the apps you have downloaded otherwise smart switch between devices or smart switch on PC

So, whether I use the google cloud, Samsung, or even Verizon...or if I go with Smart Switch...can I pick and choose what data, what apps, etc., I want to transfer over from the old phone to the new one? I want to transfer the apps -- BUT -- I don't want to transfer over the email (Outlook 365), the calendar, or the contacts. Reason being, my phone is "synced" with my laptop, and all of Outlook 365 will come over when the new phone syncs with Outlook 365 from my laptop. I don't want to have duplicate contacts, calendar entries and email. Thanks again!

I recommend get familiar with Samsung pc Smart switch it can let you choose whatever you like to transfer over you can always delete that app when it downloads or see in progress in play store
