Going naked with a pixel.

I tried to go caseless but the phone is so light and thin I felt like a drop was in the cards, so I decided to put my thin clear case back on to give it a bit more heft and something more to grab onto. Also, I can throw it on a table and not worry about getting a scratch on the camera lens.

I find the speakers are a little quiet; do you ever not hear your phone when it's in the Fitbag?

My phone is on vibrate 95% of the time and on DnD the other 5% so it's a non-issue. The bag does not suppress the strong vibrate motor at all, if that matters.

I wanted a wireless receiver on my Pixel 2, yet I wanted also to keep it thin so I got a Totallee case. Works perfectly. I use the same brand on my Iphone X.

I'm naked with my Kinda Blue Pixel 2 at the moment and I like it that way.
It's very refreshing to not have a shiney, glass or metal phone that I need to baby.

I really feel like Google's understated designs have ensured the device stays in better shape for longer.

As much as I enjoyed my iPhone X, I knew from day one that I'd need to plaster it in screen protectors and cases to keep it looking fresh. And even then, it got beat up in the areas where there was no protection. (Notch, charging port area etc).

This little Pixel 2 is quickly becoming my favourite phone ever. And I've had a fair few phones in my time... lol.

I have my Panda in a clear tpu Ringke case since day one.
Mainly to protect against from scratches, etc. Also phone lies flat with the case, which it didn't without a case because of slight camera bump.

You're braver than I am since the back is partially glass

I think the fact that the phone cost £499 and isn't one huge slab of glass makes me feel a little easier about rocking it nekkid.
It also feels no where near as fragile as an all glass design and has held up well so far!

Does the case cover the top and bottom of the phone? I was using a case from mnml for a while but didn't like the buttons being flush with the case.

How well does the case protect the camera bump on the back? Is it thick enough so that the bump is recessed when in the case?

Great responses, everyone! Thanks! Feel like I won't go caseless when I get mine, though - as much as I'd like to, some days!

Since I needed to wait about 6 weeks for my case to arrive after getting the pixel I had a good long time to experience it sans case. Really liked the way it felt all cold and smooth in my hand and also "THIN". Loved that thinness feel. Anyway, used the case for a couple months or so and took it off and now rockin' it caseless. It does indeed have a good amount of grippiness to it.
Anyway, just thought I'd share I went from no case to a case and back to no case. A first for me and I'm thinking I'll leave it naked until I really need to case it up for some reason. Maybe never LOL.

If you ever want to sell it and recoup some of your investment, then a case is a must. Selling a scratched, chips, dented phones won't get near as much back. Mint, like new is almost assured with any $7 case and even a plastic screen protector.

The case does cover the top and bottom of the phone. It also protects the camera with a very slight upraised ring. I got the case mainly to hold the wireless receiver I use with it. I doubt that it has much drop protection but it is not very slippery.

This.

I don't agree.

Smartphones are not investments. They are perishable pieces of technology.

If the selling price of my phone is one or two hundred bucks less than a "mint" phone (which they never are, BTW. Every case I've used has show minor wear spots where the case happens to leave exposed or abraded), then I'm ok with that loss if it meant I got to enjoy my phone in its naked glory for 1-2 years. I don't want that experience to be marred by a bulky, awful-feeling case or a cheap, scratched, bubble-trapping plastic screen protector or a touchscreen sensitivity robbing glass protector.

It's like buying a comfy couch and then slapping uncomfortable vinyl protectors all over it to protect its resale value. The real value of these items is the enjoyment you get from ownership of them.

True, but if you are OCD like I am, you can't enjoy it if it looks dinged up and scratched either. Hence why I do use the thin cases for piece of mind and as a compromise. It's not about for the resale value, its for my enjoyment of keeping it looking nice.

options abound. we pick ours and live with our choice. choice is good.
EDIT:A nice side effect I've noticed of going with out a case is the new phone feeling all over again, sweet.

I get this and agree. It's not like I abuse my stuff because I also find my enjoyment suffers if my valuable items get dinged up (except my bike, which is built to take a beating).

I do have a sleeve that I use to protect my Pixel 2. It's more inconvenient than a case but I get to enjoy the feel of a caseless phone while still having protection from day-to-day perils.

What wireless receiver do you use?
