I went to that link, but didn't find a good article about anything. Just flame bait from someone who either does not understand the concept of open source, or just wants to stir the pot. Considering the author and his past columns, maybe both

It doesn't get much more open than allowing whoever builds the software to change whatever they like while doing it. Don't like it? Build your own.
