New Good Lock app by Samsung

I posted this over the S7 edge forum, but for those of you who doesn't go there, take a look at this.

For those of you that come from a Nexus or another Vanilla Android device I think you'll love this app that it seems that it was released yesterday by Samsung.

If you are one of those that hate Touch Wiz, this one will get you a little closer to a Stock Android look, so if you combine this with a Stock looking Theme you'll feel that you are using a Nexus or similar device.

Plus it has a whole new and interesting idea about the Notifications in general adding widgets to the Lock Screen and even saving Notifications for later usage.

I just installed it so i still have no real opinion about it, other than it looks very strange, but it seems to have great potential. Anyways, you can go to this link from your device to install it and try it, post your opinions here. For those of you that want to know more about it, take a look here.

Go to the Settings and change your color, I did it and it looks tons better, also love the Widgets back to the Lock Screen and getting to use to the whole idea, at first it seems like a mess, but after you customize and gets the feel of it, it feels like a good idea after all.

After you change the colors and customize it with your Widgets and Apps shortcuts, besides being a totally different look for people used to Touch Wiz, it can be very useful. I think that if you give it a chance it may surprise you. For me, after 1 hour with it I can see the potential, plus it finally gives the Pure Android elitists less to talk about their hate for Touch Wiz.

I'm really liking it so far. Took a little bit of customizing, but I've got it looking pretty nice now. Much better than the touchwhiz look it had before.

For anyone that's using this, are there any options to pick which features you want to enable/disable? I think it looks interesting for the most part, but I'm not a fan of the way the Recent Apps menu looks on it.

It's only available to US devices at present. Sam Mobile has an article on it, which includes the links to the apk file if anyone is interested.

I installed it, then uninstalled it - too colorful for my liking. I don't tend to use the lock screen anymore.

This app is ruining my phone. I tried to uninstall it and it made android crash and the crash error wouldn't stop popping up on my phone. I don't know how I was able to restart it but it did and the app was gone (or so I thought). Today my phone restarted itself and Good Lock was back! I'm afraid that if I try to uninstall it again that it will brick my phone. Any similar experiences?

I had it installed for about 15 minutes before trashing it. Way too complicated for my tastes.

Had the same thing happened to me . Made the mistake of locking the phone while it was uninstalling this is what caused my crash. If it locks on you again, Hold the power and down volume button this will for a restart into recovery then just select reboot and you should be good.

It has stayed off of mine since then.

I installed it last week-end and it uninstalled alone (because my phone crashed). now when i tap the home button for a long time (ex google now) i have "unfortunatly système ui has stopped". No ways to change that even with a wipe cache... I don't want to reset my phone. However i've noticed that when i reinstalled good lock, the message wasn't there( but this app still crash)... Any ideas to escape the reset ?

I like good lock. Although, I wish I was able to change the lockscreen wallpaper to a personal wallpaper.

They just posted a new version and they took care of most of original people complaints, the only thing missing for me right now is the Quick Connect feature that it seems that the only way to get access to it is via Original Notification shade. If they fix this, for me will be a keeper for sure, I've been keeping it expecting for an update and now I can say that they are 90% where they should be with this.

In general, a very good update.

I agree 100%. I have the Gear S2 & loosing quick connect was a pain.

Can this be used to modify the lock screen to have widgets again? Can it be used with a launcher such as Nova or Action without an issue?
