So, I have been using my trusty G2 since just after launch but for the last 4 or 5 months I have been having more and more problems with it, particularly worse since the Lollipop update. Most troublesome for me was having to charge my G2 multiple times a day during my long stretches in the hospital. Several hard resets did not fix the problem so I decided to get another phone.

I really liked the G4 but wanted to make sure it was going to be the best fit for me so I also looked at the Note 4 and Nexus 6, Ruled out the nexus because I really need a phone that I can swap batteries out of if needed plus the extra storage helps. It was a dead heat between the note 4 and G4 but in the end, LG extended the deal on the extra memory, battery and cable which made it a little sweeter than the note.

Been using the G4 for a couple days now and battery life has been pretty good, I can finish out a 12 hour day in my hospital with crappy wifi and 4g with about 55 to 65% battery left with nothing turned off. With my G2, I had to turn off wifi, location, bluetooth, sync, etc. So this is a huge improvement for me

Overal, I like the phone a lot, the screen and camera are great but sometimes it gets a little sluggish. I'm going to let things settle in a bit before I go spelunking into that problem. May just try a hard reset.

Anyway, I've moved into this community now and look forward to learning more tricks etc about my G4.

Hello & a very warm welcome, i personally haven't experienced any sluggishness. However that doesn't mean it doesn't exist for some. Glad to see that your sensible and giving it time which i hope and I'm sure will settle.

Good Luck & Enjoy your G4 📱

David, you made a great choice. And the battery time on the G4 will increase the next few weeks as it optimizes. From the G2 to a G4 is a very significant upgrade. Enjoy!

I also moved from the g2 to this phone. To echo the previous comments. Battery life will improve after some use. And I have read from other posts that a hard reset has helped other issues. No to mention this phone is fairly new so I hope lg is working on post release update to resolve these other small issues that have come from real world use. I'm really enjoying this phone and hope it works out well for you

Still rocking my G2. I'm having a hard time giving it up, but I'm itching for something new for sure. Good luck with the new phone. I'm sure it'll break in nicely.

Came from a G2 also and am loving the G4. But I have to say I didn't really think I needed a new phone just wanted it. Got my G2 on release day and it was still running great, was even better on lollipop. But I did do a factory reset after getting lollipop, which is something I think should be done.

I plan on upgrading to the G4 from the Droid Maxx. I hope it's worth it.

If you're on Verizon and received the Verizon variant of Lollipop on your G2, I feel your pain. My G2 was perfect until wifey decided it needed to be updated to 5.0. Then the battery went in the toilet and the GPS quit working at all. Several several several attempts at FDRs has yet to fix either of these problems. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd go and see how to put it back on 4.4.

If you "liked" the G2, you're gonna LOVE the G4. Great choice!

I had a g2... The g4 is certainly an improvement.

I'm jumping in because I'm in the same boat as several of you (whose IDs I recognize from the G2 forum). I got the G2 a couple days after it was released and have loved it. The only issues I've had were caused by Verizon firmware updates, but I was able to resolve them for the most part ... until the dreaded Lollipop. I held it off as long as I could, but it eventually installed itself. I've followed all the advice (Multiple FDRs, etc.), and it seems I have a more functional G2 than a lot of other VZW customers, but there are still several glitches, and the battery life is absolutely horrible, as TNCattleDog said. I've been drooling over the G4 but, to be honest, if my G2 were working as well as it was the day before Lollipop, I wouldn't even consider a new phone. As it is, though, if there isn't a fix before my upgraded becomes available in a couple months, I'm pretty sure I'll be jumping to the G4 as well. I've considered other devices, but everything I'm hearing - and seeing - about the G4 has me pretty psyched. Glad to know you folks are enjoying it so much. I will likely be joining your ranks soon. Cheers!
