Goodbye Note 7 and Goodbye Samsung...

S2 up to the note 7 I've never left Samsung is what I was getting at.

Same here. I started buying Samsung phones with the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T LTE version). The bigger screens is what shifted me away from the iPhone 4. I then bought a S3 and first started buying the Note series when the Note 2 came out. I have bought every Note since and they have gotten better and better. I still remember the weird looks I would get when I had the Note 2 due to its size. I started playing around with the iPhone on the side when the 6S Plus and 7 Plus came out. I love these big screen phones! :)

Re: Never again with Samsung

Many here agree with you completely. I still believe they make some decent products but I am majorly disappointed with this Note 7 problem and how it has been handled by Samsung. I honestly don't know what I will do about buying another product from them in the future.

Outside of the recall, Note 7 was an ok phone but for me, it held nothing special over S7E, it had same shortcomings.

Mate 9 seems to be a great phone tbh, waiting for it to replace mine S7E, i hope sammy has learn the lesson with this fiasco, S8 probably gonna blow the competitors away :D

Four years with Samsung here, beginning with the Note 2 (and the Samsung-made Nexus 10, which I still have). I bought my wife an S4, then my own current Note 4 (and the original Gear watch to pair with it), and then the S7 for my wife.

I normally would have been all over the Note 7 on release day, but since my Note 4 was still humming along fine, I decided to wait and see what the Pixel XL was going to be like.

Boy, am I so glad I did. I have a Pixel XL 128 GB on preorder. And since my Nexus 10 has been getting increasingly decrepit, I've ordered a Pixel C tablet for good measure, despite it being a year old now.

Bye bye Samsung. Note that I am still happy with the two TVs of yours we have, and the washer and dryer.

P.S. Please don't say anything to my wife, who will likely be using the S7 for the next 2 1/2 years, or my daughter, currently the owner of my old Note 2 and soon to be owner of a Note 4. And a Galaxy Gear.

Been with Samsung for a few years starting with the S4 and now on on Note 4. I also use Note 8 and Tab S tablets. Swappable batteries and microSD cards used to be important features on phones for me but not so much these days and I've replaced the default Samsung apps for mail, calendar, messaging, clock, etc with their Google counterparts. The only Samsung apps I still use are S-Pen, S-Health, and Gear. I will stick with Samsung tablets bu don't know if those apps are enough to keep me buying Samsung phones.

Returned my N7 last weekend to Sams Club after activating a Pixel XL a few days prior.
Return took 15 minutes thankfully.
No issues - full refund, no request to return promos/gift cards.

After having used the Pixel for a few days, I was not sorry to see the N7 go, at all.
Way snappier performance across the board with the Pixel, and the camera is crazy good.

There's always some chance I'd buy a Samsung phone again - just not anytime soon.
For now, it's great to have moved on.

I reckon Samsung might rebound in a big way next year, which they probably should after this debacle.

I still really miss my Note 7, but I've been using a Moto Z for the past few days and surprisingly, I kinda like it.

It's a fast and snappy phone.

I have one, model # WA56H9000AW/A2, and I am currently on the phone to schedule a repair because their stupid website keeps giving me an error message when trying to schedule the appointment for the in home repair. After the issue with the Note 7 and now for the washer I bought 5 months ago that was Consumer Reports highest rated model, I am giving serious thought about buying any more Samsung products in the future.

Been with Samsung for years.. Even before smartphones. They will overcome. I have had all the Notes but jumped from the 4 to the 7. Got the N5 as my trade from N7. It's great in its own right

I also agree that they will come back from the N7 debacle in time.
At this point, I am happy not to be in the Samsung mix.

Personally, I love the Note 7 and have bought many Samsung products. don't know what has happen to their Quality as of lately. The first recall, I understood but the second was very careless of them. Too much in a hurry to get a product out that maybe wasn't tested thoroughly. To make my frustration even more, my 55 inch Samsung led TV just crapped out last night. only after 4 and half year after it was bought. I am just going to shuck it up to coincidence. As of right now I don't know which way I am leaning, keep buying their product or jump ship all together.

I decided even before the problems with the Note7 to "Jump Ship" my next handset will be a Pixel XL. Mainly just I am tired of rooting to get a plain Jane Google experience.

I also had a Samsung HDTV only 4 years old that crapped out. Our 4 year old samsung fridge...my wife hates it. Doesn't produce ice well and when it does the veg compartment freezes. Ugh. Went through both n7 recalls and now I'm OK with the s7e. I'm sure as hell not jumping onto n8 right away.
