Goodlock 2020 update inbound!

Want Nav star to come back soon... I use to really use it....

With gestures being the 'IT' thing right now and Android eventually doing away with buttons, this is the one I (now) miss the least since I had to hide the buttons anyway.

Actually Samsung is getting rid of the buttons in the future, which there will be no option to have navigation bar buttons, this will probably be somewhere in 2022 . So people are gonna have to get use to it , best bet is for those using navigation bar buttons should start using Gestures.

Edit: nevermind, I think the galaxy store was confused, it clearly said update but even after clicking the button to download the update it still says unplugged in good lock.

There other phones out there. There's no reason Samsung needs to get rid of the option to have the buttons displayed. There will always be people that want to see the buttons. If Samsung takes that option away, then they are truly becoming Apple. I use the gestures, but I know people that prefer seeing the buttons. It's a simple option that doesn't need to go anywhere, unless you want to be Apple.

Do you actually know this or is this just an opinion? It doesn't matter to me. I've moved on from the buttons, but just stating something doesn't make it so. The media does enough if this type of "reporting".

It's my opinion, and usually i am correct on theses things Samsung does.

Just remember that this isn't just a Samsung thing. Android IS getting rid of button navigation, and will, eventually, enforce that on custom variations like Samsung's just like they did with the menu button (if you recall, that was still a thing on Samsung's phones for about a year after Android got rid of them).

Well if Android keeps doing apples ways, then Apple isn't going to be all that bad anymore. Android was for choices, seems like Android is content on taking choices away now days. When this day comes, I'll have to look at both options then, until then I guess I'll enjoy the note 10+. I have 2 of them, so I can go awhile if need to.

That home screen though. All those icons. Can't do it. I do take your meaning though.

I don't think I could either. I'm just wishing Android would stop taking options away. There's no reason to take the buttons away, just make it an option, let the user decide buttons or gestures.

Couldn't agree more. And I've used the gestures, I don't mind them. But as time passed I learned I preferred the nav buttons. I would love if they remained an option.

I do use the gestures for the buttons, not the new ones. I use edge gestures app a lot, I use swipe screen thru Nova launcher for a lot, so gestures is my thing, but it's not for everyone, so choices should stay. I also fear that if Android and Samsung get in the gesture game they will interfere with what I'm doing and not allow what I want to do with gestures to work.

Problem with that is exactly what some developers struggle with when it comes to Android customizations: you have to design for everyone. And when Boogle gives you a design standard on where to place menu buttons and such, having some phones with buttons at the bottom and some others with gestures on the sides presents a challenge on where to put their own apps' buttons/options/elements as to not to interfere with navigation. Not a huge nuisance, but a nuisance nonetheless.

I don't like gestures either (disclaimer). But I also accept that I might not be the norm (I know, I know...we all think we have 'the most popular opinion' and 'things should be like I WANT, look at everyone else, they're asking for the same!!!', but there's also the tidbit that most of the time only people that are displeased ever post about things, so not really an indicator of 'everyone else wants this too!').

I know but never liked gestures...I like to have screen shot and lock button on my nav bar which really makes it easy

You might want to consider using this. I use it for screen shot. A lot easier then paying the side buttons.

People said that about the headphone jack and that's gone

Exactly very good point on the headphone jacks ,This will happen to all phones not just Samsung , So basically everything will be gesture no option for navigation button
