This isn't a nexus phone. And not in name only.
So true. Pixel devices have always been more expensive... For a reason.

I own a Pixel C and I'm on board with the added quality, etc...
With that said, I'm pretty pessimistic about the resale value of the Pixel phones. There's no data on which to base estimates, but dollars to donuts there's no way these hold value like an iPhone.

The logo and their pricing practices. The Android phones constantly go on sale and undercut the resale values. Apple doesn't. Their tactics (and the logo to a small extent) have resulted in historically documented resale that's far greater.I also have a pixel c...it's the best device I've ever owned. Happy to preorder, even at the higher price point.
Why do you think they won't hold value? Better device in all accounts. Does the apple logo somehow increase value?

The value I'd keep by going with Apple doesn't make me ever want to use an iPhone, but it does really bug me that spending money on the Pixel will likely be tossing money down a toilet.
I stated that in my original post. We have no data with which to compare other than maybe Nexus and maybe other Android flagships. Maybe. This is the first pixel phone...so you don't really know this. The pixel c has been pretty consistent, price wise.
