If I was an exec trying to control leaks I'd have a bunch of different slide deck of fake stuff. Different slides for different people. Leave them up on screens I wasn't using during meetings etc. Be interesting to see what shows up on news sites.

We'll know in a few days what is true about that leak and what is not. All we actually saw was some marketing ppt slides and some dude guessing about what it might mean. To think any of what was surmised is true without any other corroborating site or evidence is up to everyone, but it is not something I am putting much credence in or that I would worry about.

I don't see any need to pick nits about some name in a demo slide at this junction. Again, in 5 days or so we won't need to guess

I personally think some of the leaks have been intentional (but not all) to keep the Pixel line in people's minds while other flagships debut and get coverage.

Ya' know, I was thinking along the same lines. But I prefer the push button phones. Got my finger stuck in the 6 hole of a rotary phone when I was 3 and never really recovered...

Google has sent out official press invites for its event, which will begin at 9AM PT / 12PM ET in San Francisco on October 4th.

Just trying to figure out if I should just roll to the Verizon store or order online. But I will order from work after the official announcement if they go on sale then.

Not sure about in-store, but they probably had them in stock . I pre-ordered from Verizon last year and it arrived and was activated on the 10/19 which either was launch day or a day early I think. Their pre-orders went way better than Google's last year as I recall.
