Google and HTC, what do you think?

I think it will be a great combo. HTC, in my opinion, does a decent job with hardware/design; and Nexus is probably one of the greatest software elites for mobile devices. I feel like Nexus should partner up with every manufacturing company at least once (I know it's done a few already) - every manufacturer does a different spin on their Nexus and it's awesome. Can't wait! :)

There is just nothing, other than being a Nexus, that differentiates this phone from the others. If it had the front speakers like HTC of old, then maybe. I'm still following the leaks and hopefully we will get a truly killer device.

Just sitting over here watching everyone struggle about getting one of the new Nexus devices to replace their year or so old phones while I'm pulling the trigger as soon as the Marlin is released to replace my old and slow LG Nexus 5 lmao.

I'll be sitting this year out, since I took advantage of the recent deals and snagged a brand new, sealed 64 GB Matte Gold 6P for a great deal on Swappa to replace my 32 GB Aluminum, which I'll be selling.

I hope Marlin is good because the leaks for Sailfish look bad. Although I thought that with the Nexus 4 and 6P but Nexus 4 was the best looking Nexus in my opinion. Battery and camera were crap but still liked that phone.

I would get Sailfish if the battery wasn't so low and close to my 2300mAh Nexus 5. That's the disappointment

Makes sense. Thanks.

This would be great. I've always thought Google shafted HTC anyway. Considering it was HTC that made the very first Android phone to begin with, and I love HTC devices, they always make quality phones.

I'd like to see a HTC nexus device. Still remembering the Hero :)

Using that reasoning, when was the last time there was truly a big jump between phones? Most years now just mean improved battery and chip/memory. The last major difference's I would consider would be the original Note, the original Edge and wireless charging.

Well, last year to this year was a significant jump for several lines. LG and Motorola went the add-on route, for example. And HTC had a major change as well...unfortunately it was the droppage of front-facing stereo speakers.

I got a Nexus One imported from the US to Italy a couple of months after it came out. Needless to say I'm extremely interested to see if they can make something truly special. I don't think anything can captivate my younger self quite as much as the Nexus One did but one can always dream.

I have a HTC one m8 and simply love it. Great sound quality, smooth and fast, battery life, etc. And I actually really like the camera, it's fast and takes the best low light photos I ever saw. For normal use (seeing them in a pc or on the Smartphone itself) it's great. I don't understand why they didn't invest in marketing since this would sell like cupcakes.
I have high hopes for the Nexus, if one of them has similar sound quality I'm going to buy one since this one isn't getting Nougat.
