Google Assistant Not Responding

Since the Nougat update, I am having problems getting Google assistant to work.

1) Phone does not respond when I say OK google.
2) When I manually open it by long-pressing the home button, it does not respond/react to voice commands
3) Google widget will open, but when I enter text and hit the search/magnifying glass, it does nothing.

Anyone else having problems? Any suggestions?

I was just about to post this as well. I have been having the same issue for the past couple weeks now. It was working fine after the Nougat update for a while so not sure what broke it since then.

If I restart the phone it works for couple hours and goes back to not responding again.

My "ok google" wasn't working the other day. I logged into google on my phone and clicked the 3 bars in upper left corner, and did the recognize my voice (where you repeat ok google 3x) and after that it worked fine (so far).

Come to think of it, my Google Assistant has not been all that great either.

Looks like my Assistant just got an update yesterday. Since than it seems to be working fine.

The update added the ability to type and also access Assistant settings from the same page.

I have a Note 5 and it has been screwed up since Nougat as well. It works once or twice then needs rebooting to work. Every day this happens!
