Usually when I would scroll through my Google news feed, I would tap on an article and then I would always get a Google summarize option at the bottom of the screen. That has completely disappeared. Have they taken that out of Google Assistant now? I'm wondering if it's only in Gemini now?

I'm attaching a screen shot. At the bottom of the articles now it just has a Google search bar and that's it Screenshot_20240603-134800.jpg

Try having articles from your feed open in Chrome. Then you can hold the power button down for Assistant and there will be a "summarize" button which works...I just tried it.

I'll give that a try. But it was so convenient before. Once I clicked on the article it would just automatically pop up on the screen

Talk about a time saver. I love the summarization feature because when you click on the inevitable 'click-bait' from an eye-catching headline, having a summary tell you what you're not missing is the best.

Don't know if I'm in the minority, but I am very disappointed in the summary function. Only 3 short paragraphs, no matter how long the article is. Not enough when the article is lengthy.

It's a mystery. This is the only discussion I've found on the web.

The article summary option at the bottom of the screen disappeared from my pixel 7 a few weeks ago.

I noticed that also, but since it was pretty useless to me I didn't care.
