I tried to activate the Google assistant on my new watch 5 and it won't activate and suggestions?

try uninstalling and reinstalling... you can't fully uninstall it but you can reset it to the factory version.

it's a bit of a pain but you could try resetting the Watch... I do a smart switch backup first through the wearable app.

I'm also having problems with assistant although it does work, it won't let me set alarms it says the alarm has been set for then the alarm isn't actually turned on.

Probably my next move in the morning when it's fully charged.

Wiped my watch and it worked as it should Google assistant is now installed.

Glad it worked!

Would you mind seeing if setting an alarm with assistant works? It tells me the alarm is set, and looks to create the alarm, but doesn't turn it on.

I looked up "Assistant" in the Play Store on the Watch and I just had to update it. Works like a charm.

Disabling "OK Google" should improve battery. Set the double press on the Home button to activate assistant.

I'd set it to the long press...

Resetting didn't fix my issue :(

EDIT: OK, I fixed it. I switched to Bixby to see if it could set an alarm and it told me "sorry, you already have 20 alarms". So, it turns out you can only set 20 alarms on the watch. And instead of telling you this if you try and set a 21st, gooass will just tell you it has successfully set the alarm and then nothing will happen.

Never had it set to "Ok Google", AFAIK. Just disabled it altogether for now. But still losing about 3% power per hour, which would limit the battery to 30 hrs. tops! Gotta go through and see what else could be eating up the battery. Nothing can be ascertained from the Battery under Galaxy Wear. I also have the beta One UI 5.0 on the phone and wondering if something in it is causing issues.

Can you uninstall it?

I've never used, nor have any intention of ever using, these voice assistants.. . I just don't see any use for them for ME.

So, if it's even eating any battery at all by being installed, I'd like to get rid of it.

Thanks.
