Google assistant

I totally understand, I'm kinda excited also. I just wonder if it's actually something I'll even use. 😁
I actually downloaded all of to check it out a little bit. Seems pretty cool for the most part. Finally something to complete more with Siri.

I can say I do use it a lot on my Pixel since I just have to hold the home button and it is there. Reminders, controlling my thermostat, texts, and especially calling people (speaker phone or not).

Just arrived in a group of play store Google updates. Playing with it now.

Does anyone know, pixel owners perhaps, if the assistant can be interacted with without touching the phone first to wake it up? Much handier that way and was hoping the assistant had this feature like apple's siri.

I got it. Make sure to hold down the home button that opens Google Now on Tap and you should see the set up screen for Assistant. I didn't even know this and was just messing around and accidentally found it lol

Have done a few commands and it works great.

Yes, it automatically goes to Assistant once you say OK Google

I have a ZTE Zmax Pro (2 GB RAM..6.0.1 Marshmallow)

You have to wait a bit.

It's a staggered rollout and will not hit all devices at the same time.

For reference, I'm running both the latest version of the Google app and Play Services, both in betas.

I figured as much. It's still annoying, even after years of this. I'm currently on the beta for both as well.
