Google+ Auto Backup Won't turn off?

Even tho i have the setting turned off in the app, i still get notifications every few hours with a cloud icon in the notification bar that pix are still being uploaded? Anyone have this issue? I'm going to clear data and uninstall/re-install, hopefully that helps.

that should help. also make sure that photo sync is turned off under settings<Accounts.
