Gettings,
Just today when I open Google calendar and try to edit or add an event Google calendar closes.

I have rebooted and shut down completely as well as disabled then re enabled the the app.
Still Google calendar crashes.
This happens when using both the widget and the app icon

Anyone have a solution or idea what might be causing this?
Thanks.

Did you already try clearing the app cache and data in the Settings>Apps menu? Force stop it as well for good measure, then reopen it and give it a few seconds to resync to your Google account.

Greetings,
I just tried your suggestions along with restarting.
G Calendar still shuts down.
Thanks...

Try uninstalling updates to Android System Webview. Search for that in your Play Store app, then tap the Uninstall button. This will revert it to the factory version. Sometimes, an update to ASW can cause glitches in certain devices. If the problem goes away, then give feedback to Google about it, and wait for the next ASW update to come out.

Unfortunately, this made no difference. G Cal still closes when opened.

How do I "give feedback" and how will I know when the next ASW update comes out?
I can't wait indefinitely for this as I rely heavily on on G Cal.

Thanks...

Have you tried to uninstall the update to the calendar? To do that long press the calendar then tap info>upper right corner tap and uninstall the update , make sure play store isn't set to automatically update apps and see if previous version is ok ?

Uninstalling the update worked and all is back to "normal".
However, auto updates are turned OFF so I am not sure how this happened.
Thanks!

Most likely recent update has a bug , still report it and look back in a week see if a new version available from your current one .
Your welcome 👍
