I recently downloaded the Google camera apk.
I'm shocked how much better the pictures are with the Google Camera App.
Night mode is amazing the picture really does come alive in the dark.
Can you tell the difference on which picture is using the note 9 camera app and which is the Google camera app.

No, not really, but it would make me feel bad about owning a Pixel 2. (If I were getting another Note, I'd wait for the 10 - but I'm not until Samsung starts treating customers the way Google has treated me. SIX replacement phones without any argument? [Okay, the first one was probably due to my not knowing how to force a ROM into it. 4 were due to "cold weather makes fingers incompatible with FPSs, and one I hard-bricked, but someone figured a way out of that. So I'm still on the second one.])

I remember you saying about the pixel 2 replacements , Samsung customer service I dont think is as good as Google. Note 10 rumors looking good.

Which app did you use ? The one I tried kept force closing whenever I would try to use the app.

I must be doing something wrong because your apk file opens , but it doesn't let me use portrait mode. It force closes whenever I choose the option. Oh well it's not meant for me to have.lol thanks again for the link Oscar.

Night mode wasn't even working. All my pics were green, but I found a solution that fixed my night mode and portrait mode. I changed these settings RAW format to
RAW SENSOR and viewfinder format to YUV.420_888. now I'm good.

Can u explain this in steps how?

In the Google camera settings click on HDR+ control. Then scroll down to where it says fix device. click on RAW Format and select RAW Sensor. Then go right under and click Image Format. Select the YUV_420-888 options. I'll see if I can post screenshots.

I'd like to try that too. but unless I get the .apk from xda-dev I'm not doing it.

I'll have to browse the xda forums for the Google camera app now
