Google Contact App Not Working

Since the recent December 2020 Android Security update, cannot edit or add to Google Contacts.

A glitch in the update?

My problem is that the contact information is not displayed when a contact is opened using the app. The information for individual contacts may be seen when editing the contact but not when the contact is opened. Can anyone help?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7.

I tried clearing the data and then forcing a stop. It's very strange because the data is syncing and editable. It's just not displayed when the contact is opened. I've attached a screenshot of my contact.
