Google Contacts App Update Question

After the most recent Google Contacts App update, all the phone numbers are formatted with countries designation.

I want the old, simple format, but apparently the app has no provision for this.

Searching I found suggestions to set the format by opening Settings, tapping Personal info, but I'm Android 14, that's not an option.

How can I revert back to the simple format? All my numbers are in the United States

Did there used to be an option to add someone's address? I thought I had an address in my contacts but when I recently went to look up the address it wasn't there. Maybe I'm just wing but I thought I had addresses in my contacts.

When I look at a contact on my Pixel 7 Pro, the phone numbers are the way I entered them -- either (xxx) xxx-xxxx or xxx-xxx-xxxx. Are you saying they all have "+1" in front of all of that, regardless of whether you entered it that way?

When editing a contact, if there's no address yet, you should see a big button for "Add address" (under another button for "Add significant date").

My old, existing contacts are like you describe. But, the new contracts have the format in the attachment for each number for that contact.

Update to post....
Whenever I'm adding a new contact or editing a contact and to into edit mode.... The numbers have that country design showing... BUT, AFTER exiting edit or add mode..... That extra information is not shown.

Sorry, just never noticed that before. The information provided was 100% correct.
