Google Contacts won't sync

My google contacts won't sync with my contacts listing - according to the sync menu, it hasn't done so since April 20, 2011 - the mail and calendar options sync fine. There is a message that sync is currently experiencing problems and will be back shortly. Any ideas for this?

did you do a battery pull? Try that. If not try removing the google account, power down the phone, power back on, then re add the google account.

I had the same exact problem. I did a factory reset and re-setup my gmail account and everything is working fine.

I had/have the same problem but i had a Flickr account set up with my phone and then I took it off and then had no problem so far.

sent for my fantastic thunderbolt.

I think this had been asked before and I think I know the answer but if I do a factory reset, I'll lose all my apps (free) right?

Yes you will lose all your apps and your email setup. Also any screen customization. However, as long as you set up the exact same Google account afterward, all your Market apps will be automagically restored. Both free and paid.

You also might want to use My Backup Pro from the Market to backup your device before doing the factory reset. However, if you don't really have any unique data on it you might not worry about it, since your apps would be restored anyway. Sounds like that's the most important thing to you.

Google need to be told about this matter. I've done everything and I'm still getting that notification that Google is experiencing problems crap. So I just manual send all my contacts to my Google account.

I had the exact same problem on mine, it said it had not synced since
That exact date ur showing .. there's no need to reset your phone, this is what I did and now my sync is working fine...... Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All>Contact Storage>Clear Data >Soft Reset (pull battery)> try to sync again and this time it should work. Hope this helps
