Google Edition camera app w/ Photosphere - easy install, no root needed

So on the GS4 (not HTC) I have a default system app for each of these (Camera and Gallery). I froze the default system Gallery app. When I open an image from another application such as a text message, I choose the new Gallery app (the one you provided to download) to view it. The new Gallery app opens to a black screen, not allowing me to view the image.

I was looking for a way to freeze the default system apps and use these 2 new ones you provided. Hope this helps.

The Camera app works perfectly by the way. Photosphere works great. Just the Gallery I had a bit of an issue with.

Just installed on my HTC Evo 4G LTE and it works. The photo stitching on photosphere is a little wonky but that might be my fault. Thanks for the app! Fun to play with. :)

Not working on my S3 with CM10.1 - although I have used an older solution on previous occasions, photosphere never worked well and often interfered with or even prevented basic picture taking.

This package, however, tries the install and simply returns: "App not installed."
Talk about some meaningless error messages...

EDIT: 10.1 from a pre-stable nightly, which seems to be a variation on the people who posted above me.

I get the same error message. "App not installed."

I'm on a Verizon Galaxy Note 2 (i605) running CM 10.1 nightly from 5/29/2013 (the only recent semi-stable nightly I can get to work).

Those of you on CM10/Aosp, you'll need to browse to /system/app and rename Gallery2.apk to something like Gallery2.apk.bak.

Then copy over the GalleryGoogle.apk into the same folder, and reboot your phone.

Works fine on the S3 T-Mo.

It did not overwrite anything to my knowledge. It did give me a new camera and new gallery though so I can easily use either atm.

I can confirm that it works absolutely perfectly wonderfully on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2, as well as my Motorola RAZR Maxx and HTC Rezound.

Works great on my Galaxy Note 2 running Liquid Smooth. I just had to use Titanium Backup to uninstall the old version and this new version installed just fine. I'm really liking the photosphere feature.

Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 using Tapatalk 4

Will not install on my at&t GS4 with CM 10.1. It will download and go through the install process but says App Not Installed.
