The lollipop updates has rendered my nexus 7 useless, it's sloe as hell. It takes like 5 to 10 seconds to respond to any touches. Anyone else experiencing this with their 2012 device? I know it's an older device but it worked fine before lolliflop. I updated to 5.1 last night hoping it would fix 5.0 bull****. It didn't. If anyone has any success with lollipop on their 2012 device please let me know what I can do to get this device usable again. It still has good battery life and is in mint condition. Thanks.

did you do a factory reset? always best to start fresh when upgrading to a new Letter OS update. at minimum - wipe cache partition. sync/backup all of your data first.

good luck.

Yup, Factory Reset helps immensely. I never bothered after KitKat OTAs, but it's essential on any Lollipop OTA. You'll probably never get perfect performance (although I wasn't getting it on 4.4.4 either), but it should be a ton better. You'll likely need regular reboots though.

The factory reset seemed to make it a little better, but now I notice on my home WiFi on my Samsung galaxy s5 I do a speed test and I get 29mbps on my google nexus 7 I get barely get half that. I test about 9 - 12mbps every time. This will be the last fu@$ing google device I get. Anyone else notice a weak a$$ WiFi connection on their gn7?

Yes I've noticed the same. BTW if the 2012 N7 is the last Nexus branded device you buy then I think Google is fine with that. There have literally been 3 iterations since so I doubt anyone in Mountain View was waiting for you to get around to buying another device... Ijs

Root it and install Xenon HD 5.1.1 on it. Amazing at the difference
