Google: How can I fix the Bluetooth transfer of contacts to my car?

Re: Google: FIX Bluetooth transfer of contacts to my car

I can't be sure, but after Lollipop arrived on my Nexus 5, it seems I had to do the following to get contacts over to my car:

1. Open Contacts.
2. Tap Menu>Contacts to Display
3. Tap Customize.
4. Select all groups to display.

That worked for me. The key thing is to select Customize, not All Contacts, in step 3.

I may try that. I disabled the stock app and started using DW contacts, which I have used in the past, and now my contacts are transferring into my car stereo.

Re: Google: FIX Bluetooth transfer of contacts to my car

The DW contacts stopped working for me and the customization on the stock app does not work either. Grrrr.

Re: Google: FIX Bluetooth transfer of contacts to my car

And you've already tried unpairing the phone completely, then pairing again? Go to Settings>Bluetooth, and select the car. Is Contact Sharing checked on?

Re: Google: FIX Bluetooth transfer of contacts to my car

Yes, contact sharing is turned on. :(

Re: Google: FIX Bluetooth transfer of contacts to my car

I will try that. Thank you.

So yeah, this is not happening. I have warranty service with Verizon. I would use that first before I sent off my phone for 10 days. And why can't Samsung admit it needs to push out bug fixes??

Re: Google: FIX Bluetooth transfer of contacts to my car

B. Diddy, do you know how to remove the operating system?

Re: Google: FIX Bluetooth transfer of contacts to my car

No, I don't. Why do you want to do that? Do you want to re-flash the firmware?

Re: Google: FIX Bluetooth transfer of contacts to my car

In the event we don't get a bug fix, Samsung said to send in my phone, which I will not do, and it would remove and reinstall the operating system. Is that the same as re-flashing the firmware?

Re: Google: FIX Bluetooth transfer of contacts to my car

Thank you. If I feel the need to do this I will follow along with the instructions. I do not believe my problems are serious enough to do this, but if so at least I have an option.

Re: Google: FIX Bluetooth transfer of contacts to my car

My other option is to send the phone to Samsung when I get my Asus Zenfone. It does not work with Verizon, but I already picked up a Tmobile sim card and I have plans to purchase a one month plan to check out and review the phone. I would at least have a phone for the 10 days my Note was gone. Also, I would know if Samsung has a great OS for Lollipop because it would be pretty clean at that point.
