I'll try to keep this post update with all the news coming out of Google IO. You can keep up with the full stories here.

Day 1 Keynote:

1. Momentum
   • 100 million activation and 4.5 billion app installs
2. Mobile
   • Honeycomb 3.1 rolling out to the Xoom today. Improved multitasking, and re-sizable widgets, and Google TV support.
   • Ice Cream Sandwhich is official! Coming Q4. Bringing together all the branches of Android. Phones will get Honeycomb features, including the new UI.
   • Team creating guidelines for updating devices. All new phone will be updated for at least 18 months!!! (Hardware permitting)
   • Market movie rental service. Rent online or in the market, watch anywhere.
   • Music Beta (you can discuss this here)
3. More
   • Android Open Accessory: Accessory protocol with guaranteed compatibility and use of new APIs.
   • Android@Home: Control devices in your home using Android, including new "Project Tungsten" devices.

very excited about the music service, and very curious to see how android@home is going to work.

also hoping that the update team will really speed up the time between update announcements and the update getting pushed out to various devices
